Hi there;
This is an archive of the portfolio I made in 2013 to apply for undergraduate architecture study at a few universities and colleges in the US. It is more or less the same portfolio that I sent, with a few additional pictures and descriptions. All the pieces were completed throughout high school on my own time, in art class, or at Pre-College at Carnegie Mellon University. The last piece was completed in January of 2013, before the final deadlines.
I left this up online in hopes that students applying to architecture programs in the future can use this as a reference. This portfolio was relatively strong and typical of what colleges like to see in terms of creativity and artwork. Centering your work around a single theme close to you is a good means for both showcasing your thinking process and motivating yourself. Keep in mind you'll need strong academic ability (particularly psychology, writing, and physics, in my opinion) to back up your portfolio, though the weight of each varies by program. Not only so you can get in, but just so you can handle the difficulty of design school and the architect's profession.
I'm now studying at Syracuse University's School of Architecture and intend to earn a 5-year B.Arch degree.
If you're one of those students applying to architecture programs in the US in the near future, good luck! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.
