Alexander McQueen's fashion collection, Plato"s Atlantis, was inspired by Darwin"s theory of evolution. He reversed the evolution, sequencing a transformation of the clothing from organic and natural to dehumanized, even synthetic. A haunting theme of devolution and death encompassed his final collection before his own unfortunate death.
This portfolio reverses that theme. It is a story of evolution, the evolution of architecture, of nature, of civilization. An evolution of a central idea I first encountered in a separate project, one that developed from a simple to a more complex form.
It has been nine months of working my efforts and abilities not only into making this college application portfolio, but also into developing a different person. Moving on and hoping, looking toward the future.
